ghost birch

When we moved into our home twenty years ago we had a row of beautiful birch trees in our back yard. The nasty birch leaf miner eventually killed them off. One by one we had to cut down their huge weathered  trunks.  We want to replace them  with trees that are disease and pest resistant.  We need fast growing, shade trees. Ideas?

I am always a sucker for blues - my absdolute fav. You seem to love them too, eh? :)

mmmmmm, the colors are so delicious that I could almost eat them....purples and blues speak to me, bring me peace. Too bad about your birches :( I know how you feel...thanks to a week-long freeze in Florida, our Royal Poincianas are skeletons. We're hoping they'll come back...

I feel sorry for the birches... but your paintings are amazing! I love the structure on the surface and the magic colours!
