she whose garden grows......
It has been dreary, rainy and grey here,........ yet this morning dawned warm and sweet smelling........ I remembered in a clay class long ago, the teacher asking us to invent our native names..... and then do a series of work with that name. The teacher's chosen name was, "she of tensile strength."....... I chose as my name,.... " she whose garden grows."...... There were a couple of students in the class that refused to do this project as they thought it was too flakey. I think this is a great exercise to personalize your work. Working in series gives the work room to develop. I probably would change my name to something else now...something more like..."she who yearns for sunshine..." or "she who needs a holiday.." But that long ago series comes back time and time again in my work. .....she whose garden grows......

This visual is so exciting and soothing at the same time. I love the glistening beads, rain and textural plants and your work and the power the lady holds....love it. The Olde Bagg
Hope you will have lots of sun shine soon. I LOVE your room and view..
So pretty- I have been wanting to make bead strings for my windows- it does make it look happy and festive!
I like the name you chose!
Yes, I agree. My art teacher in high school had similar views.
I think your garden [of art] grows wonderfully Susan
And yes sometimes we need to break down the sensible rules to get a little creative..
I'm off to think up mine!!! Something other than She Who Hates the Neighbour'.. that would be a very dark series indeed!! hahaha
Have a lovely week.. ciao xxx Julie

I love that name that you gave yourself long ago. Perfect. I am afraid what my name would be now - something along the line of she who has reached the edge...
Thanks for the peek inside your studio...so nice to have a place to visualize with you in it, working. I adore studios and so wish I had one. My studio is my dining room or my kitchen counter. It's raining cats and dogs here, too, ...in case that makes you feel better :)
That is a beautiful place:) wow! I really love the name too
Kisses my dear
Ps: Hope you had a chance to enter my Giveaway!
Love the view and the beads!
I feel like I have gotten to know you through your blog and your art, and even the comments you have left on my blog. Is blogging cool, or what?
