pastels....

Spring is kind of feminine and pastel in my garden right now.......I've had people get upset with me for using gender to describe things......They say I should use words like, "robust" rather than masculine....it just doesn't describe the same thing to me....Should we generalize with gender when we describe something or should we just find new words?

Hey Susan
Beautiful girls in your garden [hehe] and great shots..

You know I think we should use whatever descriptive language we like.. I tend to do the same with gender and humanizing inanimate objects.. In fact is we were italian or french we would use gender a whole lot more...

Have a great weekend.. ciao xxx Julie

i dont think you could have used better descriptive words if you tried! all you have to do is look at the shapes and the colors.....

Hello:
Your images are wonderful - soft, alluring, pretty and, yes, feminine too! We do not have any difficulty over this use of gender which, we feel, cannot in any way be considered sexist. Simply descriptive.

I don't know the answer to that question, but those bleeding hearts? Beautiful. Enjoyed the visit in your garden.

I'm glad Spring has found you! It's finally hot here in the Valley. Very late coming, that sunshine, but it's so green & lush that it's hard to complain.

I use whatever decriptive words I want. Like Julie, I humanize objects so I say use gender or whatever you like to describe something!

I love that you use gender for description. Spring here, until this past week, was like a 40-something woman having PMS. How's that for gender?
