welcome Macey....
When our old Jack Russell terrier, Pablo died last summer, our family was devastated by the loss. I was so heartbroken that I swore I would not get another dog. I could not handle the heartache. When I saw other people with Jack Russell terriers I looked longingly after them but still I was adamant...no more dogs! Last winter we went to Mexico and we fell in love with an old, stray dog there. He made us aware that old dogs are just as loveable as puppies and that there are so many dogs out there that really need homes. After we were mostly finished moving into our new house I started combing the internet for a dog that needed us as much as we needed it. I told my husband that we would know the dog when we saw it. Macey was up for adoption by the Russell Rescue Society in Alberta. She had been saved by them from being euthanized at an animal shelter. She has been in and out of a few shelters. The people that had adopted her that did not understand the nature of the Jack Russell terrier. They are bundles of energy and need lots of room, attention, and training. She was fostered by a loving home for many months... but they had their own dogs....and Macey did not get along very well with them. When we applied to adopt her they told us that she had a small growth in her mouth...it is not malignant but could cause future problems. The vet had told them to remove it they would have to take part of her jawbone with it.....not really an option. At six years old, she could live another year or another ten years....After much thought we decided that life gives no guarantees....and we applied to adopt her. Russell rescue is very careful about who adopts their rescued dogs and we were asked lots of questions. Finally we were accepted and my husband went to get her. She is a dear thing.....a little possessive, which brings on the snarls and attitude....but nothing that we can't handle. Love always heals.....and our little Macey, at 16 pounds.....is a heart mender.....We know that Pablo would love her too.............welcome Macey!

What a little cutie she is, and it's commendable that you got her from a rescue centre well done, I am sure she will be a lovely addition to your family x
Our Archie is Russell and Beagle. I would live with another Russell in a heartbeat. They are loving, energetic, loyal, energetic, smart, energetic, beautiful, energetic. Congratulations on adopting Macey - every dog needs a good loving family that will care for them to the end of the road and lucky Macey has found hers.

Hurray for you and for Macey!
She is aDORable. That face! No wonder! She's really is a heart melter.
Love Jack Russells. Did you ever see the Jack Russell in the film "The Awful Truth?" There is a scene with the dog and Cary Grant at the piano that kills me every time. So funny! You see Cary Grant break character with this dog and start laughing. You have to see it! :)
Sorry, off on a tangent!
Congratulations!! :)
I'm sure Macey will soon hold a permanent place in your heart.
