Slocan City, ( population, very small) held their 110 year anniversary this weekend. The parade was so short that they turned around and made another pass. We were charmed by the friendly faces and old time feel. I love our new neighborhood and this small town celebration.....(all photos courtesy of my cousin, Paula, who was visiting from Saskatchewan...thanks, Paula!)

"...so short that they turned around and made another pass." That's hilarious!
It may have been a small parade, but it looks like a good one! Love that bicycle with the wheelchair in front -- very clever, actually.
Hello:
Your images convey all of the atmosphere, fun and energy of this celebration which, in comparison with so many large city, organised events, really does have all the appearance of a community enjoying a holiday together. We are so pleased to know that you are happy settling into your new life. Looking at this, we can readily understand your pleasure.
A real parade with real people, you don't see a lot of this anymore!
there is something reassuring about a small town celebration - brings back memories of my minnesota childhood...love the horses, the old cars and the free-form floats!!
xo
that bike with the wheel chair in the front is the coolest thing ever-
clean beautiful fun
beautiful shots.
I adore small town festivities. We go to a little place for their Christmas parade and another smaller town for 4th of July Parade. Something special about just being with folks who have pride in their place....how fun.

I'm busy looking at the artwork in your sidebar :))

I have always found that you guys know how to celebrate in a much grander and enthusiatic way than we do. Looked like a fun day. Xxxx
