do you time travel?
I had three hours of dental surgery yesterday. Six to eight injections were used to freeze my mouth. I'm not too sure exactly because I wasn't really paying attention. I knew this brutal day would come so I prepared myself. I used my neti pot, made sure I was well hydrated, and wore comfortable, loose clothing. When the procedure began, I focused on my breathing and I travelled in my mind to Matala, Crete. I had stayed there when I was a young girl and the memories I carry are precious to me. I remembered the day I arrived ...the beach...the ocean...the feeling of being young. When my dentist would ask me something I would respond but the drilling and fear, I paid no attention to. All through my life, I have recognized happiness and said to myself, "I will never forget this moment". Then I have imprinted those memories and saved them for when I needed them. The surgery went well......... no problem......oh yes,.... I don't remember it well......but I will never forget some things..........do you time travel?

Isn't it wonderful how our minds can overcome unpleasant (!!!) circumstances and travel to special spots. Glad you were able to allow your mind to focus on other things...and not the surgery. And GLAD you are doing well.

Yes, I too draw on what I have saved as special moments to get me through the "ugly" times. Be well and take care of yourself.

My dentist happens to be one of my close friends, but I still hate him sometimes!! Hope you are feeling better.
You are lucky to be able to zone out and transport yourself so. My admiration to you!
I'm not sure I'm capable of time travel. I'm too stimulated by the present moment. I usually ask my dentist for a little laughing gas when things get tough. Not that I laugh but things go a little faster or something.
so glad the surgery went well and that it is DONE!
i travel off to fantasy camp as often as i can. sometimes it is much preferred to the regular world!

I dont but anything that could help me get through a dental surgery like that sounds like something to try.
Glad it's over! I have time traveled on occasion but I believe you may be the master.
