WHAT AN AMAZING RIDE IT HAS BEEN WATCHING THE CNN COVERAGE OF THE CHILEAN MINE DISASTER. ....THIRTY THREE MINERS TRAPPED UNDERGROUND FOR 69 DAYS ......RESCUED THROUGH A 21 INCH CAPSULE HURTLING THROUGH HALF A MILE OF SOLID ROCK....... ALL THIRTY THREE RESCUED SAFELY! .....WE SAW ALL OF THIS LIVE ....FROM BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE WORLD...... TRANSMITTED BY SATELLITE TO THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY.....HEROES EVERY ONE! .......JOY, JUBILATION, ADRENALINE.......ESPERANZA, HOPE!......VIVA CHILE!.

Hi Susan
It's wonderful news isn't it.. I was watching it yesterday live too.. and reminded me of when those Tasmanian miners were trapped... can't remember how long those guys were down there.. but the Chileans have been trapped longer than anyone before.. It's so uplifting.. Gives one hope.. the impossible is maybe not so impossible at all!!!

I can't imagine how scary that was. This area is riddled with coal and zinc mines and I have heard many stories from people who have lost a family member in a mine accident.

Wasn't it breathtaking? It is the complete opposite to what we usually sit and watch....crime, pain, blood and guts.
This was a triumph for the human spirit globally. How cool is that????
