shine on, Hunter's Moon......
Maybe our ancestors went hunting on a full moon....but, full moon in our modern world usually means time to howl in a different sense. Here in British Columbia, our drinking and driving laws have just been tightened up to the point where drinking and driving is no longer an option. One glass of wine with dinner and you probably will be over our .05 limit. Since the new law went into effect one month ago, they have already ticketed 20,000 people. That's not all....... they take away your car right there and then. Heavy fines are demanded later, and if you are lucky, you won't lose your license...this time anyways. That puts a bit of a damper on the party but it sure saves lives. Our windy, mountain roads are dangerous enough. You can be sure on the first, full moon after the passing of this new law, the police will be out in force this weekend. Right on! I hate the sound of sirens in the night.....shine on, Hunter's Moon......

see, it shows, I really don't know what I'm doing!
I just saw something I have to get on your etsy, you have such beautiful work! I havfe to wait until pay day though.
I adore this work....every wonderfilled bit of it.
We live in a state that has the second highest drunk driving record in the 50 United States. It is very scary. More deaths from drunk drivers than some diseases. And the worst part is that even though the numbers have improved.....repeat offenders are let out of jail and doing it again and again. In the news last week a guy who had 47 previous DWI convictions (22 of those where car wrecks) finally killed an entire family coming home from a day of fun in the mountains. So Sad.

Love the flowing and the colours, beautiful work!
I am so for a no drinking and driving policy. Having 4 children two of them already driving and one getting awfully close it gives me goosebumps thinking they might be tempted...and then there are all the other drivers as well.
This makes the streets so much safer!
Your collage is absolutely stunning! I adore the moon over the valley!
Have a wonderful weekend!

wow! that is strict!!! but i guess it is worth if if it saves lives! and BOY, your gov't is wracking in the cash if 20,000 have already been ticketed! LOL!

what a good law, imo, and the best part of it is they take the car right away...brilliant...wish we'd get our act together down here and stop letting these fools KEEP killing people...
anyway, this artwork is amazing...beautiful and very much goes with the gorgeous full moon, tho tonight it rains so i can't enjoy her...it's beautiful as has all the art i have been seeing on your site lately...i apologize i have not been over to comment until now but your work is amazing and you use scrumptious color, my weakness! :)
xx
We have .05 here too. It often means I don't go out - whats the point of going out for dinner without a nice wine? Public transport here isn't that good, or safe and taxis are far too expensive. However, if it saves lives, its worth it.
That does sound strict! I hope people take it seriously.
Hope you are well. Hoowwwwlllll!!!!
It is a strict law, but a good one. Fortunately, when I go out for dinner with the girlfriends, it's a two to three hour event. So my one martini at the beginning of the evening is long gone after ten tons of appies and plenty of water and laughter!
PS - you won my giveaway! Please send me your mailing address to: rueandhyssop (at) gmail (dot) com.
Oh, that Hunter's Moon is a gorgeous one!!! I've been following it every morning as the sun begins to rise...I set out for my morning walk at 6 a.m., an hour before the sunrise...so the moon lights the way this week!
Intolerance is where you are...but if it saves lives, it's worth it!
I am vehemently opposed to lax drunk driving laws, and yet I'd like to see the research on how impaired someone is at .05. I can't imagine that a single glass of wine at dinner, for most, is a problem and I wonder if that's overly rigid.
I adore this piece...That is so interesting:)
Kisses my dear
Hope you are having a lovely weekend
I like the idea of both the Hunter Moon and the lesser know Travel Moon.. as it gives me more to dream about..
We have been 0.05 here as long as I can remember... and even less for P Plates [provisional drivers.. ] and Zero for learners.. As it should be I think.. although that's easy for me to say.. I rarely drink these days..
Enjoy your beautiful Hunter's Moon.. xxx Julie
Lovely! Beautiful colours.
