sometimes we just need to know how......
A good friend came by for a visit today. I hadn't seen her since she had been declared totally cancer free. I had accompanied her to a doctors appointment two and a half years ago and helped her cope with the fear of learning that she had a very aggressive type of skin cancer. It's all better now...treatment done....but because it was such an aggressive type of cancer, they believe that if she has been clean for two years, she has probably beat it. We talked about how cancer can not live in an alkaline body. She has litmus paper and tests her urine's ph every day. If her body is acidic, her naturopath has prescribed a combination of natural salts. When I was running my gallery, I used to sell lots of things that just plain interested me. I got very into Himalayan rock salt. This salt was made when the Himalayas were formed......the world was totally clean and unpolluted. It contains all the natural minerals and salts needed by the human body. I sold, "Sol" which were pure crystals of Himalayan salt. You were to dissolve them into water and take a teaspoon daily to keep the ph of your body in an alkaline state. It is surprising to me that salt can do this, because we are so conditioned into thinking all salt is bad for you. I also use a lot of miso in cooking, and it is known to make your body's ph more alkaline as well. Miso is naturally salty. So what makes your body acidic...almost all the junk you already know is bad for you. What makes it alkaline....same thing ....almost all of the stuff, you know, is good for you. (worth a google) What I think is really interesting is that by peeing on litmus paper we can know for sure what our body's ph is......Yup, just like testing the water in the hot tub, we can test ourselves as well.....I've put litmus paper on my pharmacy, shopping list.......sometimes we just need to know how.....

Interesting. I think even with blood pressure issues, salt is only problematic if you are a salt-sensitive hypertensive.
I am intrigued by this. Very. I am gonna get some litmus paper as well and give it a go. Oh that sounded bad. I have heard of Himalyan salt before because of my brothers having had melanoma. It was one of the things his therapist told him about. Thanks for the reminder. Linda, The Olde Bagg
Totally good to know! I never even heard of this but it makes total sense. I hope your friend is okay.
Well I have never heard about that, but the idea of Himalyan salt does appeal, over here we have Halen Mon salt from Anglesey which is supposed to be much more healthy than refined salt, or I use Maldon salt. Hope your friend stays well x
beautiful colours. you're so so so talented.
Such a coincidence. Yesterday I just bought a pack of Himalayan salt for the first time from the weekly ecological market here. So interesting to read about your post.
I love the painting. And, salt. I have reduced salt in my diet. Seems like when I occasionally eat something salty then, it stays on my tongue for days. Perhaps I need to test my ph. Interesting.
I think this is a great idea - I'm all for anything so simple that can help you take better care of yourself. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. It's lovely to meet you!
Yowzer, this was an interesting set of ideas! Litmus paper, eh? Okey dokey...off to the pharmacy...
awesome painting!! and wow, you are cool. i also use miso and himalayan salt. good of you to share those ideas

interesting about the acid tests - i was wondering if you could use a pool testing kit?? but how would you know what the optimum is??
