the dogs of Isla Holbox.....

Since all of Isla Holbox is sand there are no vegetables grown here. But the sea is a mighty provider of all sorts of high quality protein so there is plenty to eat for everybody. The people here love dogs. The dogs here are not the skinny, mangy types that you often see in parts of Mexico. The dogs of Isla Holbox are well fed, groomed and often sporting jackets and ribbons in their hair. Even though there are dogs absolutely everywhere, the streets are clean and rarely do you see unscooped dog excrement.  The kind and happy villagers are always raking their island and many go barefoot all of the time.......

It is a rare thing to find somewhere where cleanliness is observed. Once again I will say.....this looks like paradise, particularly because of the dogs. The photo of the big white one with the brown only one eye reminds me of my darling Willow girl.
Keep on enjoying the Isla, The Olde Bagg, Linda

It's nice to see that the animals are well cared for. I have a hard time seeing skinny, undernourished animals in impoverished countries.

Love the outfits!

that was the first thing I noticed. how clean and well fed the dogs were... wild dogs freak me out a little.. and you tend to see them a lot when travelling.. especially Bali and Thailand.. but these guys look really happy!!! good for them...
